GPS Synchronized Clocks

Put GPS-referenced time where people can see it. HC Electronics GPS synchronized clocks provide digital time displays for purchases that specify GPS as the timing reference.

Select a clock for a new display position or request a replacement that works with your existing GPS timing equipment. The product proposal should identify the display, receiving arrangement and accessories needed for the particular clock being supplied.

GPS Time Without an Internet Time Service

A dedicated GPS receiver obtains timing information from satellite broadcasts rather than an internet time service. This provides a way to obtain an external time reference without using an internet connection for that reception.

For a clock that must operate without network access, make that requirement explicit in your enquiry. Ask for a configuration whose normal time reception does not depend on a separate network-connected device.

A display supplied with time by existing GPS reference equipment is a different purchase. In that case, identify the connection available at the clock position so the proposed display can be assessed against it.

Choose the Required Clock Package

01

Clock with GPS Receiving Equipment

For a new installation without an existing reference, specify that the purchase must include the equipment needed to receive GPS time.

Request confirmation of where the receiver is located: inside the clock or in a separate supplied unit. The offer should identify the receiver, antenna and connection accessories included, together with any items that need to be purchased separately.

02

Clock for an Existing GPS Reference

For a display-only purchase, provide the make and model of the reference equipment already installed. Include the output used by the current clock and any available connection documentation.

Ask HC Electronics to review a compatible display configuration. The proposal should state whether the existing reference equipment can remain unchanged or whether an additional interface is required.

A GPS-referenced clock and a clock containing its own GPS receiver should not be treated as the same package when comparing quotations.

GPS Wall Clocks and Suspended Displays

HC Electronics’ digital clock range includes wall-mounted and hanging configurations, with different display dimensions and 12- or 24-hour formats. Confirm the available combination for the GPS version being considered.

Wall Clocks

For a GPS wall clock, specify the space available for the complete enclosure and how the time will be viewed. Where the clock replaces an existing unit, include the position of the current fixings and any cable opening that needs to remain concealed.

Suspended Displays

For a suspended display, describe the required viewing direction and mounting clearance. Request the assembly drawing with the proposed bracket rather than reviewing only a front-view product image.

Display Layout

State whether the display needs to show hours and minutes, include seconds, or provide date information. Have the agreed layout identified in the quotation so the appearance and GPS receiving configuration are approved together.

Allow for the Receiving Location

The best position for reading the clock may not be suitable for receiving satellite signals. Buildings and other obstructions can block or reflect GPS signals, and indoor or underground reception can be problematic.

For a receiver-equipped purchase, describe the intended clock location and any accessible antenna position. Ask which receiving arrangement is suitable for the offered model before assuming that the antenna can sit behind the display.

Where a separate antenna is required, include the anticipated route between the clock and antenna. The quotation should identify the supplied cable length and the approved arrangement for any extension.

Keep the environmental requirements separate: a protected indoor display and an exposed antenna may need different mounting hardware and protection. Request the applicable specifications for each component.

What Your GPS Clock Quotation Should Include

Compare offers by the equipment and documentation supplied, not by the display photograph alone.

Order ItemDetails to Identify
GPS clockExact model, display layout and receiving configuration.
Receiving equipmentIntegrated receiver, separate receiving unit or connection to equipment retained by the customer.
Antenna accessoriesAntenna, cable and mounting components included where direct reception is required.
Operating powerClock input requirements, supplied adapter or power accessories, and the relevant connection.
Mechanical assemblyEnclosure dimensions, mounting bracket and any components supplied separately.
Product documentationInstructions and performance information applicable to the quoted hardware version.

For a quantity order, distinguish complete clock packages from display-only units and spare accessories. This gives the purchasing team a clear basis for comparing prices and checking the delivered items.

Any displayed-time tolerance required for acceptance should be included in the enquiry. Ask for the performance specification of the finished clock under the stated operating conditions, rather than applying a receiver component’s rating to the complete display.

GPS Clock Purchasing Questions

Is a subscription required to receive GPS time?

The civilian GPS timing service is freely available; receiving its broadcast does not require a GPS timing subscription. The clock, receiving hardware and any separately agreed services remain part of the purchase scope.

Can I specify GPS-only reception?

Yes—include GPS-only operation as a purchasing requirement. Ask whether the proposed receiver supports the required operating mode and whether that setting can be retained in the supplied configuration.

The quotation should document the accepted requirement; it should not be inferred from a general satellite-clock description.

Can spare antennas or receiving components be quoted with the clocks?

Include the required spares in your enquiry and request the approved part references for the selected clock. Ask which components are replaceable and whether replacement requires a configuration change.

For an existing installation, supply the clock and receiver identification before ordering accessories. Spare parts should be matched to that hardware rather than selected solely by connector appearance.

Request a GPS Synchronized Clock Quote

Tell HC Electronics whether you need a complete GPS receiving clock package or a display for an existing GPS reference. Include the quantity, required display layout, mounting arrangement and available power.

For new receiving equipment, add the proposed antenna location and approximate cable requirement. We will review the purchase requirements and discuss the clock configuration and included components.
